Technical Account Manager
They were really engaged with me across the board, from my peers to management, to make sure I was a good fit for the team, the management, and the company overall. So, there were 4 rounds. First, I spoke with the talent acquisition team. Then, the manager of the team. After that, a technical interview which was pretty fast-paced, covering security, basic networking, and Linux questions. The last interview was a long one, 3.5 hours, with 6 people. The first two were pairs, one for team fit and the other for cultural fit, and the last were with managers.
- Could you describe the process when a user accesses a webpage?
- Can you explain what port 80 is used for?
- What is the function of port 443?
Account Manager
The interview process kicked off with an initial phone screen with HR, followed by a conversation with the hiring manager, which went really well. After that, I had a half-day interview session with five different people. I enjoyed meeting everyone and learning more about the company from them. I sent individual thank you emails to all of them and got quick responses back from four, thanking me for coming in. The hiring manager mentioned I'd hear back soon. A slight hiccup in the process was that my HR contact was out when I interviewed, and the HR coordinator handling things that day didn't have much detailed information about the next steps. She mentioned I'd hear from my HR contact the next morning, but I figured that wouldn't happen since she wouldn't have interview feedback yet. I waited patiently for them to discuss everything internally, understanding they are interviewing for many roles in this department and expecting it might take a bit longer than I'm used to. However, the experience is becoming a bit negative because after two weeks, I checked in with the HR lead and heard nothing back all week regarding my candidacy status. If they are still deciding, a brief update would be easy and appreciated. Rapid7 was a top choice after my positive in-person interviews, but the lack of communication is changing my mind a bit, and I might start considering other opportunities now.
