I had a 30-minute phone chat about my experience and when I'm available. They asked about salary expectations, but nothing too specific. Since it was during COVID, I also asked about how clean the place is and their focus on safety.

First you submit your resume, cover letter, and any other stuff they ask for. Sometimes you might have to do an online test or some quick questions. Then, there's a chat, maybe on the phone or video, with HR or a recruiter. They'll check out your background, see if you're a good fit, and ask about your salary needs and when you can start. If the job needs it, you might have to do a technical test, a case study, or some coding. For example, IT folks might have to set up routers or fix network issues, finance people might get an Excel test or do financial modeling, and data analysts might have to use SQL or Python. After that, the hiring manager or team lead will talk to you to see how good your technical skills are and if you can solve problems.

Behavioral Technical Other

The interviews were pretty casual and short. The questions were simple and not too hard. I got an offer with good pay, a start date, and benefits. It was a fast process, but then they just stopped responding. My offer was rescinded without any reason after I already quit my job. I couldn't reach anyone I interviewed with. An HR person just brushed it off, saying rescinding offers is normal. It was handled unethically, which is weird since the company focuses on fair hiring.

Confirmed questions4 questions
  • My offer was rescinded without explanation after I had given notice to my current employer.
  • I was unable to get in contact with anyone I actually interviewed with.
  • It was all brushed off to an HR rep who acted like rescinding offers was common practice.

The interview process was standard, involving interviews and questioning. My objective was to convey that I understood the need for strong front desk and communication skills, a professional appearance, and attitude for this HR receptionist role. I also aimed to show I could collaborate effectively with Aaron and the HR team. I met with the entire HR team, which was five people. They each wanted to assess my past experience as a front desk agent and my ability to work well with others and clients in this sensitive role. I am confident I can bring the necessary skills to Horizon Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New Jersey as their HR receptionist.
