First, a recruiter call. After that, an interview with the hiring manager. The first in-person or phone interview happens within the same week/7 days. You'll need to create and present a 5-minute PowerPoint about something you're passionate about. Think about whether you'd rather be an account manager or a BDS, considering your experience and the offered salary. I had to push back a bit to get the salary floor from my last role, and they advised never to let them talk you under your floor. You'll likely be onboarded by the end of the month.

A recruiter hit me up on LinkedIn to chat about my experience, the BDM role, and why I'm looking for a new gig. That call was about 30 minutes. Afterwards, she asked if I'd be up for an in-person interview at the office. The next week, I went in and met with the MD and three Practice Directors. I also shadowed a recruiter because the BDM wasn't around that day, I guess. This in-person bit took about 2 hours. Then, I moved on to a Montage interview with the SVP. The MD prepped me, saying this interview would make or break the hiring decision. During my chat with her, she was super negative, and it felt like nothing I said impressed her. That interview lasted 45 minutes. I followed up with the MD about moving forward, but he ghosted me. Kinda unprofessional, especially after he was so friendly in the first in-person interview, talking about start dates like we were best buds.

The interview process was brief and clear, with all details readily available. The atmosphere was very positive, reflecting an eagerness to expand the team. They discussed growth opportunities and what a typical day looks like in this role. I also had the chance to talk to a current employee and shadow them before deciding to accept the position.
