Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Ramboll.
Environmental Engineer
So, the interview was like, first there was a screening call, then two more rounds. The first of those rounds had some senior project managers who would be like, my bosses, you know, and they asked me standard corporate questions. The second round was with more staff people and it was shorter, more about seeing if I'd fit in with the culture and personality-wise, plus some more standard corporate questions.
- Tell me about a time you had a conflict with coworkers and how you handled it.
Civil Engineer
Applied for the graduate campaign on the company website at the end of October and got an invitation to the assessment centre right after the job ad deadline. The assessment centre had about 20 students and included 3 main things. First, a group project to design a bridge (pretty easy, no detailed design needed), and then we presented our idea as a group. After that, we did a test which was a mix of verbal, numerical, deductive, and inductive reasoning tests (the tough part). Finally, there was an interview with 2 senior managers/directors. Everyone was really friendly all day, both HR and the directors. It was a very good experience.
- What makes you want to join Ramboll?
- Describe a situation where you successfully resolved a technical issue.
- Considering the bridge design task from this morning, what ground investigation steps would be necessary for its construction?
Structural Engineer
The interview was about 45 minutes. They asked some standard questions like why you chose engineering, your 5-year goals, and any hobbies. Then there was a short test where you had to draw shear and bending moment diagrams and figure out the best places for bracing.
- What makes you want to work for Ramboll?
- Can you explain your motivations for pursuing engineering?
- What are your career aspirations for the next five years?
