Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Ralph Lauren.
Analyst
The interview process started with a quick chat with HR about my background. Then I was invited to the office for another interview with HR and the Hiring Manager. The office was a mess because they were moving, which was quite unsafe. A video call would have made more sense. During the 30-minute interview, HR mostly asked me to go over my resume. The Hiring Manager seemed disengaged, making me wonder if they already had someone in mind. Eventually, the Hiring Manager asked about my current discount. A week later, HR informed me I didn't get the job because I wasn't a cultural fit, despite interviewing well. They went with another candidate who was a better cultural fit. I was surprised by the 'cultural fit' reasoning, especially in today's environment.
- Could you walk me through your resume?
- What kind of discount do you currently receive in your role?
Analyst
There were 3 stages in the interview process. It involved data tasks and a mix of interview questions. Some questions were about the company and why I wanted to join. Others focused on the brand and my interest in it and its products.
- What are your motivations for applying?
- Can you tell me about your education and experience?
- What are your interests in the brand and its products?
Programme Analyst
Overall, it was a great experience. They were really upfront about everything, and kept me in the loop with updates. The job description made sense, and everyone I talked to was really good at explaining what the job involved and what they were looking for.
- What makes you want to join our company?
