Manager
First, you talk with HR, then the hiring manager, a team member, department heads you'll be working with a lot, and finally the C-Suite exec in charge of your area. The whole thing is pretty simple and smooth, and they keep you in the loop well.
- Can you share your aspirations for the future?
- Beyond your potential tenure here, what are your long-term career ambitions?
Assistant Manager
I applied late one night and got a call the next morning to schedule an interview for later that week. The first interview was a phone call where they asked basic questions about me and my current job. The store manager was over 30 minutes late for this call, so I emailed to reschedule. She called back right away, apologized, and we did the interview. After that, she wanted to meet in person for coffee. The next interview was a coffee meeting, where she was again about 20 minutes late. Despite the disrespect for my time, I waited, and we talked for two hours. She then said she'd set up an interview with the HR manager. The HR manager emailed to set up a time, but since she was in New York, she didn't specify the time zone, and I missed her call because I wasn't aware it was 2 PM Eastern Time. She left a voicemail and emailed to reschedule. When we finally spoke, her questions were very vague. Then the district manager called for a phone interview. He missed our scheduled call, and I had to contact HR to figure out if we needed to reschedule. He finally rescheduled via email three days later. Our phone interview went well, and he wanted an in-person meeting at the store in a couple of weeks. When I arrived for the interview, he had overbooked meetings and was 20 minutes late. He seemed uninterested, constantly checking his phone and emails, which gave me a poor impression of the company. While the store manager and district manager seemed keen, he cut the interview short due to his time management issues and said they'd get back to me. After all the interviews and their mistakes, I just received an email saying they're continuing their search. I'm very disappointed with the whole process; my time was clearly not valued.
- What are your current sales figures?
- How are your sales performing?
- Where do your sales stand currently?
Senior Manager
It was a really smooth and straightforward process. I had great conversations and it made me really want to join the company. I got to meet some great people and learn more about the role. There were only a few interview rounds and they were scheduled quickly.
- What is your motivation for wanting to work at this company?
