Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Rady Children's Hospital.
Registered Nurse
The interview process was pretty long. I started with a really conversational and easy phone interview with the hiring manager. After that, since I was living out of state, they set up a Zoom panel interview for me. It took about 4 weeks to hear back after that, so I followed up with the hiring manager. She then let me know they had already offered the job to someone else.
- Can you share your background, your path in nursing, and what interests you about this specific role at Rady Children's?
Registered Nurse
The interview process was smooth and the staff were nice. I felt welcomed and not intimidated. They asked mostly about my experience and a couple of scenario questions.
- Can you describe your experience in your unit and the patient acuity level?
Registered Nurse
Got a call about 2 weeks after applying. The interview was great and included standard questions, plus some behavioral ones about teamwork and conflict resolution. I was told I'd hear back in 2-3 weeks either way, but never did. I tried reaching out to the floor supervisor and the nurse recruiter twice, and even sent a message asking for feedback on how I could improve. It was frustrating not hearing back, especially since they said I would. The interview itself was with a director, supervisor, and nurse educators, and they were all fantastic. I think a change was happening that caused some issues in the process.
- Can you share an instance where your personal boundaries were crossed?
- Describe a situation where you received an unclear task or assignment and explain how you managed it.
