First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at RaceTrac.
Store Associate
It was a standard, professional interview. The questions were good, relevant to the job, and about actual work situations. They asked a bunch of situational questions to see how I'd handle different things, making it structured, clear, and focused on the job.
- Could you tell me more about yourself?
Store Associate
I put in my application online. A week later, I got a call for the phone interview. Two days after that, I had a 1:1 interview that lasted about 30-45 minutes, and I think it went well. I didn't hear anything until about two weeks later when I got an email about orientation. After orientation, you get your training schedule, which is for a week. At the end of training, they let you know if you're a good fit. There's only one person in charge of hiring and interviews for each region, so don't worry if you don't hear back right away.
- What makes you want to work at RaceTrac and what are your long-term plans here?
- Can you share an example of a time you provided an outstanding customer experience?
- Tell me about a WOW experience you've had.
Store Associate
The hiring process was pretty neat. The hiring manager made me feel super comfortable, like we were just chatting. Surprisingly, the interview happened right in a RaceTrac store! It was a bit tough to focus on the questions with all the interruptions, but I did get to check out the vibe. It's a really busy place with a bunch of happy employees who all seem super into making customers happy. They asked me questions based on the company's core values, like a time I had to be honest and it was awkward, a miscommunication with a coworker, my biggest achievement, and what drives me. They want detailed answers. After that, I got a store tour and met the team. They explained the job and some RaceTrac history. I then got a call for a second interview, which they called an RJP, with the store manager. It was another store walk and my chance to see if it was a good fit for me.
- What unique contribution will you make to RaceTrac that will help us advance the business?
