Manager
The interview process was shorter than most, with a recruiter phone screen, then a panel with a Sr Manager and Manager, and finally the Executive Director. Applied in Feb, screening and panel in March, final in early April. No feedback after the final, ghosted. I understand they picked someone else, but the lack of communication is frustrating. As a 'bonus', after each round, you get a pizza code. I'll use competitors from now on.
- What were the standard situational and technical questions asked?
- Both interview rounds focused more on the technical aspects.
- Were they looking for a leader in the role, or a wrench turner?
Manager
Applied online for a store position nearby. Had a referral from an employee and my current job's connection to someone who worked in the Irving office. Applied on a Wednesday, interviewed face-to-face in Irving that Friday, and got a job offer the following Wednesday. The interviewer was friendly and interested in my grocery store office background. I prepared by visiting the store to gather specific details for thoughtful questions, which impressed her.
- What are your long-term career aspirations?
Management
Had three interviews. First up was a phone call with the recruiter where they asked a few questions about my resume and experience. Then, I had another face-to-face interview with the recruiter that included some behavioral questions. The last interview was at a corporate office with the area HR person. We talked about my background and they also asked a few behavioral questions. I have to say, the HR person was very professional and structured, which was great. The recruiter, on the other hand, was the worst I've ever dealt with. They'd ask what time worked best for me and then schedule the opposite time. They'd also say they'd get back to me by a certain date and then I'd never hear from them. If I didn't know someone at the company who likes working there, I probably would have stopped the process.
- What's a common complaint you think arises, and how would you handle it?
