First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at R.S. Hughes Co., Inc..
Inside Sales Representative
Applied online through an employment agency. They were quick to respond. They had me complete a personality and assessment test. Then, I went in for an in-person interview. I didn't hear back from them afterwards unless I reached out to see if I was still being considered, which I found to be rude and dismissive of my time and job search. I felt like I would have been a good fit for the job based on my experience. However, it seemed like the job and company culture might be very stressful, and the low pay likely wouldn't compensate for it. In hindsight, it might have been for the best that I wasn't offered the role. Many companies nowadays seem to want perfect candidates with specific skills who are willing to work for very little pay. The company's reviews (2.9) also suggest it might not be a great place to work. The company itself might be alright, but the organizational structure, management, and the target market could be quite volatile and unpredictable.
- Can you tell me about your background and past experiences?
- What are your career goals and aspirations for the future?
- What motivated you to apply for this position?
Outside Sales Representative
The sales manager didn't go over my resume in much detail. They wanted to know what my personality was like. The questions were more about my life experiences and how I would fit with the team. Be ready to have an open discussion that will range over lots of topics. Make sure to do your homework on the company and be able to bring solid experiences to the position you are applying for.
- How does your experience as a manufacturer rep relate to being a distribution rep?
Outside Sales Representative
There were 3 interviews in total, and the last one was with the regional manager. It wasn't too tough, the interviews were really laid back and the manager was wearing shorts when I first interviewed. For the final interview, I had to drive over 4 hours away and I never got compensated for gas.
