Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at R+L Carriers.
.NET Developer
After a screening at the University Tech career fair, I had one 1-hour interview. The interviewer set it up for the following week, and the whole thing took about 2 months.
- Tell me about your resume.
- Can you answer some SQL questions?
- Do you know about Networks?
.NET Developer
I got an email from the recruiter saying the hiring manager would call me for an initial phone screening and asked for a time slot. First, the hiring manager set up a call outside of my provided time slot. Second, the hiring manager didn't just call to discuss job experience, but it was an actual 2-hour telephonic interview with 4 other managers. They asked all sorts of behavioral and technical questions. They mentioned the recruiter would contact me the following week with a hiring decision. Third, the recruiter didn't update me and didn't reply to my follow-up emails. I've been in this industry for a long time, and this experience is unique and very frustrating. Unprofessional.
- Could you describe the syntax of code in ASP.NET?
.NET Developer
It was a two-round interview process. Most of the questions were technical, covering SQL, web programming (HTML, CSS, Jquery, Javascript), and OOD. They asked a lot of basic questions about OOD concepts like inheritance, abstract classes, and interfaces. There were also some questions about software engineering practices, such as agile programming.
- Can you describe what an interface is in the context of Object-Oriented Design?
- Could you explain the concept of inheritance in Object-Oriented Design?
- What is an abstract class, and how does it relate to Object-Oriented Design?
