First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at R/GA.

I submitted my application online and heard back from a recruiter about two weeks later for an initial chat. This first conversation was about my background, my portfolio, and my experience working with different teams. After that, I had another interview with a design lead where we discussed one of my case studies in more detail, focusing on how I think about design, collaborate, and make design decisions.
- Can you describe a difficult project and how you modified it?
- What constitutes good design?

Recruiter reached out on linkedin, trying to poach me. The initial recruiter call was shallow, mostly about salary. I interviewed with two different teams over a few weeks. The interviews were disorganized -- some creative directors were late or missed meetings, forcing me to re-present my portfolio multiple times. Creative leads seemed unprepared to conduct interviews, mixing casual chat with textbook questions, leaving little room for in-depth responses. I also didn't get contact info for anyone to follow up with specific questions.
- What makes you interested in working with our client team?

The interview process involved talking with HR, the Creative Director, and the Managing Director. There was also a chat with a team member. Everyone was quite interesting and nice. The interviews felt more like casual conversations, and it was a generally good experience.
- Can you walk me through your portfolio?
- What are your career aspirations?
