Customer Service Representative
A few days after submitting my application and assessment, I got an email for an interview. At first, there weren't any slots, but I kept checking back daily until some opened up. For work-from-home roles like this one, they begin with some technical questions. After that, they move on to questions using the STAR method. If they're happy with your responses, they'll offer you the job right on the call. I got to pick from a few different shifts and confirm when training would start.
- Can you explain how to minimize or maximize your screen?
- What are the steps to change your default internet browser?
- Describe a time you got feedback from your supervisor or manager and how you dealt with it.

The phone interview kicked off with the recruiter asking general computer knowledge questions, like how to minimize and maximize windows. Then, the recruiter asked some questions about your past work experiences, if you'd taken a remote class before, and if you'd been in a live online classroom with webcams. If they liked your answers, you'd get an on-the-spot job offer, and the recruiter would let you choose your work schedule for after the training. You'd have to find your own time to ask any questions because the interview is fast-paced and they don't seem to expect questions, but they do tell you the job details/requirements.

- Have you ever engaged in remote desktop sharing?

So after you apply, a recruiter will give you a call for a phone interview. If you pass that, you'll schedule a day for an in-person interview. This will be at a hiring event with about 10 other people. They'll start with a briefing about the company, then go into more detail about the job, pay, and the very limited paid time off. It's still a good place to work though! Then you'll wait to be picked up for your interview in a room with others. They'll give you a scenario to read out loud. Finally, they'll ask if you have any questions. If they offer you the job, you'll do a drug test and get your ID that same day. I didn't think I did well, they pretty much walked me out right after.
- Can you describe a situation where you had to manage a stressed customer or decline their request?
- Tell me about an instance where you had to deal with a customer who was stressed or you had to tell them no.
