First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Quotient, Inc..
Web Developer
I first chatted with the recruiter about the job and the hiring process overall. Then, I had a phone interview with both the recruiter and a manager I'd be reporting to. Finally, there was an in-person interview in Columbia, MD. The recruiter was super welcoming and made me feel like part of the team right away. The interview process was really nice because instead of a quiz, they had me talk about my resume, my past job experiences, what I did, and what I learned. They could ask follow-up questions if they needed more info. Basically, it was a super smooth process and I never felt awkward.
- Can you tell me about your experience with Drupal?
Web Developer
It took me two weeks to go from first contact to signing the offer. I saw an ad and reached out. The recruiter called back fast, and our talk was super easy and convincing. Then I went onsite and met the team lead/manager. It was more of a chat than a formal interview. After that, I talked with two developers who threw in some tech questions here and there. The talks were open and honest, which made me feel really good about the dev team. I get really nervous and sometimes freeze up during interviews, but Quotient's way of doing things made me feel super comfortable. I really liked that they didn't try to trick me, which earned my respect for them and the company. The coolest thing was that everyone did exactly what they promised, when they promised it. That's rare, right?
- Can you explain how to pass a variable by reference to a function in PHP?
Web Developer
I saw a job post on a job board and they asked to be emailed directly. I sent the head of HR an email and was contacted right away to set up a phone screen. The phone screen was brief and touched on some of my background. They asked me to come in for an in-person interview. I was interviewed directly by 3 of their developers, very friendly. I usually feel tense during the interview process, but the questions were straight forward, and the interviewers were pretty disarming and casual. I then met with the head of HR, and he gave me an overview on what to expect, informed me that the Developers told him it went well, and I should hear back from them very soon. The next day I had an offer and a start date. The whole process from email to being hired took less than 5 days, uncommonly fast.
