The interview process at Quince is straightforward. Round 1 was a Problem Solving and Data Structures interview (60 Mins). Round 2 was a Low Level Design interview. Round 3 was a Hiring Manager Interview, which included System Design and Culture Fitment questions. The first round went well and the interviewer was supportive. In the 2nd round the interviewer came up with some random question and was not able to form the question properly. He was not clear with what the requirement was, although in the end he got what he was looking for. But post that the company vanished and even after multiple followup's I could not get a response for more than 10 days and finally when I could catch with the HR, she mentioned that I was not selected. Okay that's quite fair, but luckily I asked her for detailed feedback, so she mentioned she will get back and she called back and mentioned me that the solution that I had provided for the Redbus system design was not upto the mark and I was completely shocked, these guys are rejecting without even remembering what was the question that was asked to me. I mentioned this to HR and she told she cannot do anything since the position is closed. The Recruitment team do not care about the candidates time and experience, they are just looking to waste your time. I also got to know from my friends working here that most of the candidates hired here are friends/relatives/known of the managers.

It was a technical screen that tested basic SQL fundamentals like JOINs, followed by system design questions. Then, we delved into web application development using PYTHON and NODEJS, and discussed my past work experience. Finally, there were some behavioral questions.

I went through a 3-round interview process. The first was a Bar Raiser round covering HTML, CSS, JS React fundamentals and web optimization. The second was a Machine Coding round where I had to build a Search bar with some optimizations. The third was a Manager round focusing on fitment and technical discussion. I actually solved a DSA question in the manager round and talked about my projects. The feedback said my problem-solving was good but my explanation for an impactful project wasn't great, apparently I "couldn’t answer properly" and "took more time." This was surprising to me. The manager wasn't the usual one because the actual hiring manager was on leave, and I don't think they could really gauge the project's complexity. I asked to interview with the actual hiring manager but they've been ghosting me since.
