So, I interviewed at Queen's, and it was pretty tough. The interviewers really dug deep, asking questions that required me to know my stuff and think fast. They were professional and to the point, which made it feel pretty intense. It wasn't like they were mean or anything, but the formal, high-stakes vibe made it hard to relax.

I had an interview for a placement position with QUB Digital & Information Services back in February 2025. It was an in-person interview at the McClay Library, and it lasted about 25 minutes. Three nice interviewers from different parts of DIS talked to me. It felt pretty welcoming and engaging. I was initially put on the reserve list, but then I got an offer, which was a nice surprise. So, don't get discouraged if you don't hear back right away!

After filling out a tough application form, there was just one interview stage. I had to give a presentation to 3 people on advising students about jobs, finding placements, and useful AI tools. Then, they asked me some competency questions.

I applied through the portal and was invited to a face-to-face interview. There were four people there, two seemed friendly and two didn't seem to want to be there. No one got up to introduce themselves, which made it really uncomfortable. Questions were read robotically from a sheet, and it felt like a police interrogation at times, though one lady really carried the interview. The questions were basic, like my placement year interviews, and they showed no interest in my career. It was a poor experience and left a bad impression of QUB.
