Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Quantis.
Consultant
The hiring process was really smooth and quick, and very transparent. They let me know about every step beforehand. The whole thing, including 3 interviews, wrapped up in about a month. It started with an HR chat, then a meeting with some consultants, and ended with a panel interview with the team I’d be joining.
- Could you tell me about something you're particularly proud of achieving?
Consultant
I had a good experience overall, even though I didn't get an offer. The hiring team was communicative and respected my time. Quantis seems like a welcoming place to work.
- Can you tell me why you are interested in consulting?
- What specifically about this role interests you?
Senior Consultant
The first interview went well and I was told I'd have a second interview with the department. After a month of silence, I followed up and was informed I was still under consideration. I then connected the company with a major client for an initial meeting and followed up with research relevant to the department. Despite multiple friendly follow-up emails over several months, there was no update on my application. I eventually gave up and contacted the CEO about my hiring experience. He responded quickly, and the hiring department contacted me a few days later to schedule a call. However, the call was not a friendly update but a reprimand for contacting the CEO. The interviewer repeatedly asked why I would do that, failing to understand the arrogance of this stance and the connection between a consultancy's success and its treatment of people. The recruiter's unprofessional behavior and bullying tactics, especially towards someone who stood up for themselves, were evident. I suspect this tone would not have been used with a man. I was shocked by the comment, 'who contacts a CEO?'. It's unsurprising given that senior staff are reportedly leaving. It's a shame for a reputable sustainability consultancy.
- Can you tell us about your previous work experience?
- We noted your UK nationality. Is this correct?
- Can you explain your reasoning for reaching out to the CEO?
