First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Qualys.
Technical Support Engineer
For the Technical Support Engineer position at Qualys, I went through a good interview experience with 3 rounds. The first two rounds were technical, and the third was a managerial round. Before the first and second rounds, they provided a list of topics to prepare, mainly focusing on Networking, Windows/Linux Operating Systems, and Security Concepts. These were all fundamental topics, so if you're already familiar with them, it shouldn't be an issue. The first interview had basic questions asking for definitions and concepts. The second interview covered similar topics but went deeper to test understanding. The third round was mostly about personal background and previous experience, not too challenging. Overall, it wasn't a difficult interview, especially if you have a background in Cybersecurity.
- Can you explain what DNS is?
- What is DHCP?
- Could you define ARP?
Technical Support Engineer
I applied online and after that the company contacted me. Few weeks went by and I had my first interview with a technical recruiter. Then I had a technical interview with a team lead. After that, I had a panel interview with the hiring manager and other team members. There was no communication for several weeks after this. Finally, I had a meeting with the hiring manager and was told that a decision would be made in a few days. More than two weeks later, the recruiter emailed me that they decided not to hire anyone for the role. I did not receive any feedback.
- Can you discuss questions related to multiple ports and services?
Technical Support Engineer
I had an in-person meeting at an industry event where they asked a few basic technical questions. Then there was a phone call to get to know me better. After that, I had to complete a technical questionnaire as a Word document, and then finally an on-site interview.
- Can you explain the SSL handshake process?
- What distinguishes SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS from each other?
- What information do you have about our company?
