First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Qualys.
Technical Account Manager
The interview process is intense, with five interviews. It includes a panel interview and a final presentation to sales leadership, potentially even the CEO. A lot of prep time is needed.
- Summarize a client problem you solved in a case study, showcasing your sales skills and info security knowledge.
Account Manager
The first round was a phone call, probably to check if you can talk well, know some basic tech stuff, and get what this job is about. Then, the second round was a technical interview where they asked harder questions about networking and security, like TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, subnetting, firewalls, VPNs, SSL/TLS, HTTPS, finding weaknesses, basic pen testing, and fixing network issues. The last round was an assessment or manager chat, which might have had questions about fitting in, how you solve problems with scenarios, and talking about the job, what you want, and where you see yourself going.
- Tell me about your experience with networking and security concepts.
Technical Account Manager
First, I had a good phone chat with a recruiter, then I had a Zoom interview with a manager. The manager was late for the Zoom meeting and didn't give me enough time to ask my questions. They spent more time talking about themselves than asking about me, and it didn't seem like they had read my resume. I could have explained my answers better, but I felt rushed and didn't think it was worth repeating info I'd already said or that was on my resume. They ghosted me after, even though I followed up multiple times. It wasn't a great interview and felt like a waste of time.
- Can you discuss your experience with EDR tools?
