They really want you to come in for an interview so they can see if you smile. If you don't smile when you walk in, you won't get hired. They also want to see someone who is well-dressed and has good grammar. They'll sit you down and ask about your experience, your desire to work in this field, and your schedule availability. There's also a personality test with the application, which they use if they're unsure about you. If they're sure, they'll hire you right away. If not, they'll set up a second interview with someone else. After that, there are five classes, six follow-ups, and an audition. If you're hired, you'll be a temporary staff member initially, in case it turns out you're not a good fit.
- I heard the training is really tough, and it felt like you were trying to discourage me from working here.

I submitted my application and then got to talk with the shift manager. They asked me some direct questions and seemed genuinely interested in chatting with me. I also got to ask them some questions, and they gave honest answers. It happened quickly because they needed staff right away, so they told me to come back the next day wearing my uniform for a basic training shift.
- Tell me about a challenging situation you faced in a prior serving role and how you handled it.

Had an interview with a few of the bosses. It was pretty straightforward, just sat down and they asked me some questions. The leadership people are usually a little intimidating because they're so professional, but the questions weren't too tough.
- Describe a time you dealt with a difficult customer situation and how you handled it.
- What are your thoughts on the proper steps of service in a restaurant setting?
