Presales Engineer
I went through several interviews, starting with a peer and then moving on to management. It seemed like a standard process, and I was even told I was the top candidate. However, the offer was significantly lower than my current role, which we had discussed previously. When I pointed this out, both the company and the recruitment agency went silent, despite the agency claiming they were working on improving the offer. My interactions with everyone involved left me with a strong sense of disrespect for candidates. I guess I might have avoided a bad situation...
- Can you explain IAM?
Account Executive
It was a pretty simple interview process for the Account Executive role. First, I had a Zoom chat with the Sales Director. After that, I had another Zoom chat with the VP of Sales. Then, I gave a sales presentation to a panel over Zoom. Lastly, I had a final Zoom conversation with the SVP of Sales. If you do your homework, it should be an easy process.
- Have questions ready about the company, industry, and sales process, as these are most important.
- Do your research and be prepared.
Threat Intelligence Analyst
They contacted me pretty fast to schedule a video interview. The interview went well, they were ready and knew my application. They were open about the job. It was a good interview overall. After the interview, they gave me a skills assessment to do. It took a good chunk of time, like 4-5 hours. I sent it in and then heard nothing back, not even a rejection. I emailed them twice and got no reply, which was really unprofessional and a letdown, especially since they had me do a task that took half a workday.
- What are some threat intel investigative techniques you've used?
- Can you explain some specific threat intelligence investigation methods?
Director
The interview process started with a usual phone call, followed by in-person rounds. The in-person part felt a bit disorganized, but that's alright. All the conversations went smoothly. However, after the interview, there was complete silence. Nobody even had the courtesy to respond about the status. I sent a thank-you note and then followed up a few days later on the status. The recruiter finally replied that he'd get back to me soon, which suggested he didn't have a final decision from the interviewing team. More weeks went by with no response. I sent another message, and the recruiter said he'd have an answer in a day. Another week passed without any communication. Finally, I sent a message withdrawing my candidacy from anything that might potentially materialize. I don't want anything to do with a company that treats interviewees this way. A simple yes or no takes about a minute after the interviewing team syncs up. If a decision can't be made, just say so. If a better candidate has been identified, state that. Just communicate something. I won't recommend this place.
- Tell me about your experience with technical leadership as a manager.
- What are your approaches to people management?
- How do you handle performance reviews?
