Strategic Account Manager
I got an e-mail asking for a suitable time for a call in the next two days which I replied to. I was called by a recruiter at the agreed time and had a 30 minute long conversation about the position. The recruiter was very friendly and asked a lot of questions about myself and why I see myself in this position. At the end I had time to ask questions I had about the position and company.
- Why are you interested in a sales career?
- Can you describe what a typical workday looks like for you?
- If you were meeting a potential customer for the first time, how would you approach selling our products to them?
Account Manager
It was with HR and the Sales Manager. There was a technical and English test. I had to explain my CV and why I'm in sales. They asked about my salary expectations. Then, why more science. I had to explain my ideas about the job. Knowledge of products and customers was important. And the differences between academia and industry.
- How does DNA purification using columns work?
Sales Account Manager
It was a 3-stage application process: application, video call with the line manager, and a video call with the line manager/DACH manager/HR. After a brief personal introduction, they asked about my motivation and qualifications. I also had to talk about my job expectations and was given time to ask questions. Communication before and after was always quick, professional, decisive, and polite.
- What is your view on a complex sales process?
