First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Qantas.
Graduate Engineer
So first up, they had this online interview and some assessments for me to do. It involved answering a few questions, like why I wanted this job and what my motivations were. There were also some situational questions they threw in. The whole online interview thing lasted about 30 minutes.
- Why are you interested in this role and what motivates you to apply?
- Can you share an example of a challenging situation you encountered and how you dealt with it?
- Could you describe a project you contributed to that you found particularly rewarding, detailing your specific contributions?
Graduate Engineer Trainee
It was a pretty simple process. The questions were technical and made you think, though sometimes they were tough to answer right away. They focused on the specific role, asking about how to handle certain problems or situations.
- Can you share an example of when you took the lead of a team?
Graduate Engineer
The whole thing was a multi-stage process starting with an online application, then an aptitude test, followed by a phone call interview, a group interview, and finally an individual interview. It all took about 3 months from when applications closed until they made an offer.
- What specifically about this job caught your eye when you applied?
