Customer Success Manager
I was contacted by a recruiter, then had a call with them. After that, I was given a take-home assignment and had to do a mock customer presentation. The process wrapped up with a culture call, also with the recruiter. It was a good interview experience overall, though it was tough not to get the offer after all the effort. The recruiter did give me a $100 gift card to say thanks for my work, which was nice.
- Can you walk me through a tough customer situation where you had to provide very specific answers and meet certain criteria?
Customer Success Manager
This was one of the best interview experiences I've had! The whole process was smooth and efficient, and they communicated well throughout. It was a two-part interview. The first interview was more of a casual chat to get to know me, where we discussed my past and present experience and some questions specific to customer success. For the second interview, I was given a case study and had to prepare a presentation for a mock customer call. It was challenging but a great experience. I really liked receiving immediate feedback after the mock call. After the mock call, we went over more questions before finishing up. Overall, it was a great interview experience and the whole process from the first interview to the offer was quite fast!
- Which stakeholder types have you worked with previously?
Customer Success Manager
The interview process involved an initial conversation with the hiring manager, followed by a customer call brief project. Next, there was a mock customer call where I presented to the CSM team, who role-played as the customers. The final stage was a culture and core values call with the Co-Founder, where I needed to discuss my experiences related to their core values. I ultimately declined the offer due to concerns about work-life balance, as the feedback from the hiring manager, CSM leads, and co-founder indicated it wasn't a priority in their startup environment, with the hiring manager even mentioning a "Hustle Culture".
- Could you give me a brief overview of yourself, beyond what's on your resume?
- What's your capacity for managing customers simultaneously?
- What are your career aspirations for this next position?
