Behavioral Presentation

It was a pretty standard process for a fast-paced company. Started with an initial phone screen, then a call with the hiring manager, and finished with a business case presentation. The presentation focused on efficiency and diversity in volume talent acquisition. This was before Covid and before the Harver acquisition, so it's likely very different now.

They told me there would be 6 rounds total, mixing technical and HR interviews. I went through 3 of them. The first was with HR, where they talked about the company and asked about my background. The second was a technical interview with the CSO, mostly basic SQL. The third was a technical interview on Codepad. I didn't pass this one, but the rest of the process involved a presentation to a panel, another technical interview with the team, and a final interview to see if I'd fit the company culture.

Pymetrics is still worth the interview, but I suggest getting all the information upfront about their process and how long you should expect to hear from them between rounds. I felt the interviewing process dragged on, which I didn't care for. There were 4 rounds: Screening, Initial Manager Interview, Take-Home Coding Assessment, and a 3-part super round assessing hard skills, soft skills, and values. At first, I was impressed with the process. I was getting timely responses from the recruiter about the interview process. However, things started to slow down after the second round. Although I completed all 4 rounds of interviews, I wasn't getting feedback from the company in a timely manner. When asked about my availability for the final round, I gave my availability but didn't hear from them for a week. When I was contacted again, the final round was scheduled for the next day. I was already at a disadvantage due to the timing of the interview. The disadvantages piled up when they sprung a partnered coding session unexpectedly. My anxiety overwhelmed me due to the lack of communication about the interview process. I did not perform well on the interviews and ultimately did not receive an offer.

There were 5 rounds in total, and the entire process spanned about 2.5 weeks. The first round was a HackerRank challenge with 6 coding questions that I had time to complete. Next, I had an introductory phone call with an engineering lead who discussed my background to see if I was a good fit and provided more information about the company. Following that, I had a phone screen with another engineering lead where we talked about my experience and they asked one coding question. The fourth round was an on-site interview where I met with three people and answered more technical questions. The fifth and final round was also on-site, and it seemed to focus more on cultural fit.
