I got hired through a referral when the company was hiring a lot of people. Now, they interview more and hire fewer people. The quality they're looking for has gone up since they've become more established.

I was contacted by a recruiter for an Account Executive role. First, there was an initial phone screen, then a second call with the recruiter. After that, I was invited for an in-person role-play with two sales leaders. The final step was an interview over Google Hangout with the same two sales leaders, though one had a prior commitment. I was told I had more experience than most of their reps and that my sales acumen and ability to handle objections during the role-play were overwhelmingly positive. All signs pointed to things going well and that I was a great fit. Surprisingly, the recruiter called the next day saying I wasn't a fit because I didn't seem to want to be there. I guess they were right, I wouldn't waste my time interviewing for roles I'm not interested in. They really dodged a bullet. Unless you're overtly religious, don't bother applying.

I just had a phone interview/screening, it took about 30 minutes. It was a pretty standard conversation covering basic background stuff—your experience, what you expect from the role, and why you're interested in the company. A key piece of advice: be ready to talk about your metrics and accomplishments. I was asked to put numbers to my past performance (like quotas met, revenue brought in, client accounts handled), so make sure your figures are ready beforehand. Overall, it felt like a professional and efficient process.
