The interview felt professional, though a bit awkward at times. It was challenging but interesting, and while structured, it also felt relaxed. It was a dynamic mix of being friendly, evaluative, and thoughtful. It was seamless, engaging, and situational based blah blah blah

Had a phone screen with the internal recruiter. The recruiter was incredibly abrasive and robotic. The interview style felt like being ordered from at a fast food drive through, rather than an interview at an international PR agency. The Glassdoor reviews are horrendous; the company should focus on attracting talent, not repelling it. At the end, I was asked if I had any questions. I fought the urge to ask the recruiter to 'tell me you hate your job without telling me you hate your job.'

I received an email from HR for a phone interview scheduled for the same day. I confirmed and provided my number. On the scheduled day, I waited for their call, but they never rang. After 15 minutes, I contacted the HR person to check if there was an issue with my number or anything else. I didn't get a response. Two days later, I emailed again to inquire about rescheduling. Still no reply. I'd heard negative feedback about their internal processes before, but I hoped it was just one person's issue. However, after a week and a half without any communication, I found their behavior quite unprofessional, especially considering my role as a fashion editor for a prominent publication like Conde Nast, which receives daily press releases. It's unexpected from a communications agency to lack communication themselves.

I applied for the job on LinkedIn and had an initial phone interview with HR which went fine. They then set up a video interview with the two hiring managers, which was a weird experience. One of them turned her video and sound off after asking me a question that I was in the middle of answering. She never came back on the call (this was about 5 minutes into a 30 minute interview), and the other hiring manager never acknowledged it. It made me feel like I was already not going to get the job and that they felt I was a waste of their time. I completed the interview anyway and then never heard back from HR, but honestly I would not want to work at Purple after the interview experience and reading these other reviews about the company culture.
