Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at PureCode Software.
Front End Developer
At PureCode, we'll likely assess your grasp of front-end development concepts, your coding prowess, and how well you can describe UIs using text. Expect to tackle coding challenges and maybe some AI-related questions. We might also chat about UI/UX ideas.
- Regarding web application performance, how would you approach optimization on both the client and server sides?
- Could you share your experience with JavaScript frameworks or libraries, and elaborate on the advantages they provide for web development?
- How do you manage authentication and authorization within a web application?
Frontend Developer
We started with an online test, kind of a quiz with multiple-choice and coding problems about HTML, CSS, and React basics. Then, there was a technical interview where they grilled me on state management, making things run faster, hooks, and other core React stuff. After that, I had a practical assignment where I had to build a user-friendly app using React and PureCode's AI to show off my skills. Finally, we chatted about the task, they gave me feedback, and we talked about how I'd fit into the company culture.
- Could you describe React hooks, specifically the useState and useEffect hooks?
- What's your approach to handling forms within React?
- What is Redux, and in what scenarios would it be beneficial for a React project?
Front End Developer
First, we had a phone screen to check general interest and background. Then, a technical assessment, followed by a peer interview for teamwork. After that, a design interview to look at UI/UX principles. Finally, we had a last interview with team members and HR to talk about cultural fit.
- Regarding website responsiveness and cross-browser compatibility, what methods do you employ?
- Can you describe your experience utilizing the CSS box model for layout problem-solving?
- Tell me about your work with JavaScript frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue, and your reasons for favoring a particular one.
