First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at PURE Insurance.
Senior Python Engineer
This whole thing took over 30 days which was the most frustrating part. They only had two interviews: a phone screening and then a 30-minute video call. It's wild it took this long; they would go weeks without contact, and I'd start thinking they weren't even considering me anymore. Then, finally, I'd hear back.
- Can you tell me about your background?
Member Advocate
I applied for a job and a talent acquisition specialist from PURE reached out to set up a phone interview. When the time came, they never called, and I didn't get a response after trying to follow up. It felt unprofessional and like they didn't respect my time. I looked into it more and saw bad reviews from people saying they were overworked and underpaid, especially in member advocate roles. With their Glassdoor rating being 67%, I guess it's a good thing this didn't work out.

Product Development Manager
I interviewed with 4 people in total, including the hiring manager. Each interview lasted about 30 minutes. Three of the interviews were pretty good and gave me a clearer picture of the role and how I'd fit in. Expect at least one whole interview to be about what you're "passionate" about in your personal life. They tried to connect these to the job, but honestly, they felt more like lifestyle questions.
- What drives your interests outside of your professional life?
Claims Representative
I had five interviews over six weeks, which was a positive experience overall. The interviews were casual and conversational, but they made sure their expectations were clear. The HR person was super communicative. They told me they hired someone else, but she thanked me for my time. That said, five interviews over a month and a half is a lot. I feel like interviews 3-5 gave me false hope, but that's on me. Also, it was tough to take time off or affect my work metrics to make these interviews happen during work hours.
- Tell me about a time you provided outstanding customer service.
- What would your ideal job be if salary was not a concern?
