Software Engineer
Riley Peng (Head of Talent Acquisition) reached out to me on LinkedIn and guided me through the whole interview process. I had a screening round, a written test, two technical rounds, and a final managerial & HR round. The entire process was completed in just a few days, and I received prompt feedback without any ghosting. Riley was exceptionally helpful and responsive throughout.
- The Angular written test covered fundamentals, Rest APIs, and Reactive Forms.
- Later rounds included some Javascript/Typescript and Java Spring Boot questions.

As a sophomore, I went to a Java Meet Up at their NYC HQ. I met the CTO there, and we chatted over drinks about tech and other things. He gave me his card, and I followed up for an interview. The questions were pretty straightforward, mostly on data structures, sorting, algorithms, and data science, not too difficult. I got the internship offer.
- Can you describe various use-cases for the concepts we discussed?
- What are some tricky questions related to heaps in Java?
- What are some tricky questions related to hash tables in Java?

I had one of the smoothest interview experiences with PulsePoint. The recruiter, Riley, was honestly the best recruiter I’ve ever interacted with. She made the entire process seamless — keeping me updated at every step and clearly communicating timelines and expectations. The first round was an assessment, which I really appreciated because it resembled real tasks I’d actually do on the job, not random DSA or trick questions. After that, there was a screening call with the hiring manager, who asked straightforward questions about my reason for switching, interest in the company, and general background. Next came the technical interview, which covered both Java and Angular. It felt more like a conversation than a grilling session — if you genuinely have the required skills, it’s going to be a piece of cake. Finally, there was a feedback call where I was informed about my performance and the offer decision. The entire process took about 3–4 days, and all documentation was wrapped up within a week. Overall, I was really impressed by how smooth, transparent, and fast the whole process was. Big thanks to Riley and the team for setting such a high standard for interview experiences.
- What motivated your job change and why are you interested in PulsePoint?
- The hiring manager inquired about my motivations for seeking a new role and my specific interest in PulsePoint, aiming to understand my alignment with their company goals.
