The first interview was directly with the team manager, which was nice since there was no gatekeeping and I got to speak with decision-makers right away. The conversation felt relaxed and laid-back, not stressful at all. They mostly asked technical questions and about how I tackle engineering problems, with hardly any behavioral stuff, which was honestly a relief. You can tell this team values sharp, analytical thinking based on how the manager talks to you. They're really into AI and intelligent systems, and it came up naturally in our chat — they're not stuck in the past with their tech. The manager was easy to talk to and clearly knows their stuff. I got a good feel for the work and the team.

The interview kicked off with a brief 15-minute intro chat that was pretty chill. The recruiter wanted to get a sense of my background, my journey into software development, and what I'd been working on lately. We chatted about hard skills, went over the product line, and discussed my experience with project management and working with cross-functional teams. It was interesting how technically focused the team seemed right from the start – they clearly value developers who are critical thinkers and can thrive in a fast-paced, tech-savvy environment. The whole thing felt smooth and organized, giving me a solid first impression of their internal operations.

The interview process included an online coding assessment with two algorithmic problems on HackerRank. This was followed by a technical interview focusing on data structures and algorithms. Next, there was a system design round where I was asked to design a URL shortener, and a coding component. Finally, a behavioral interview covered teamwork, problem-solving, and leadership.
