Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at PSEG.
Technical
Applied online when the job was posted. Got an email about a month later to schedule an interview. The interview got delayed by a week because of scheduling issues with the interviewers. It was supposed to be in person, but it ended up being over the phone since not everyone could make it to the office. It felt a bit disorganized. I spoke with 3 people, one of whom was my future manager. They asked standard behavioral questions using the STAR method. They wanted to see if my background aligned with the job requirements. I received an offer a few weeks after.
- Can you walk me through your resume and experience?
- Is your experience a good match for this job description?
Technical
The interview had two parts. First, there was a HireView, which was a behavioral interview and a screening for the next round. The second interview wasn't super hard; it felt like they wanted to figure out the best spot for you rather than grill you.
- Can you tell me about your resume?
- Describe a situation where you had to deal with a difficult person.
Technical
I applied online in February and then had a phone interview a couple of months later. After the phone interview, there was about a week before I got the official offer letter. I had five days to accept the offer.
- Can you walk me through your resume?
- Tell me about a situation where you struggled to work with a teammate.
