Actuarial Analyst
It was a great interview experience. I never felt nervous at all. Everyone was very friendly during the interviews. It felt very relaxed and casual. It lasted for the right amount of time, so I was very satisfied with how it all went.
- Tell me about your strengths.
- Tell me about your weaknesses.
- What are your hobbies?
Actuarial Intern
So I had a phone interview first, which was pretty basic with behavioral questions and a question about why I wanted to pursue actuarial science. About a month later, I had a second round of interviews. The first night involved a presentation and a dinner. The next morning, there were three interviews, each with an actuary who asked behavioral questions from a list and took notes. There was hardly any time left to ask questions or highlight my strengths. I'd definitely prepare for around 50 similar behavioral questions and think about how to stand out. Overall, everyone was really nice though.
- Tell me about a time you took an intellectual risk.
Actuarial Analyst
So first there was a phone screen where they asked me about my technical abilities. Then, I had an in-person interview which was more about getting to know me, like asking about my favorite math classes from college and what I look for in a team. I honestly thought I bombed the phone interview cause the first person I talked to was super rude and seemed like they didn't wanna be there. But the second person was nice, though it turned out she wasn't later on when I started working there.
- What's your go-to Excel function?
- Which function in R do you like best?
- Tell me about a theoretical math course you really enjoyed.
