Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Provincial Health Services Authority.
Project Analyst
The whole thing took about a month and a half, way too slow honestly. It was a panel interview with three people over Zoom. Then they asked for references, but I had to say no because they took so long to move forward and even had a follow-up call. I got the feeling they weren't really that serious about hiring, even after checking my references, they were still taking ages. The manager finally called me a week after the reference check, saying they'd decide soon. I had to tell them I was interviewing elsewhere. I never heard back, and then a month later they emailed me. It's funny how they expect candidates to be free and waiting for them, then they worry about career gaps.
- Tell me about your past work experience.
- Can you describe a specific situation you faced and how you managed it?
Project Analyst
It was all behavioural questions. They mainly wanted to know about my education, my career goals, and why I applied. They provide technical training after you're hired, so don't worry about that. It was a pretty easy interview, maybe a bit easier since I was referred by someone. They seem to prioritize cultural fit over specific skills. The main technical skill needed is just knowing Excel basics like copy-paste and data entry. Mentioning your typing speed, especially if it's over 50 WPM, is a good idea.
- Can you provide an overview of your resume?
Project Analyst
I applied online through their website, and the whole thing took about a week. I had two phone chats, the first was with someone from talent acquisition, and the second was with the team lead. The interviews felt pretty laid-back, and each one lasted around 20 to 30 minutes.
- Have you worked overtime before?
