Management Consultant
The interview process started with an initial 40-minute phone interview where they explained the role and asked about my background and motivations. This was followed by a second round phone interview with a senior manager, lasting 25 minutes, focusing on motivation, background, and skills. The main part was an assessment centre at their London office, which lasted about 6.5 hours. It included an individual case study (2.5 hours) involving an in-tray exercise and a 3-slide/5-minute presentation of findings. There were also two 30-minute interviews: one to understand my personality, achievements, skills, and motivation, and another to assess my problem-solving and questioning skills through a case study scenario (dealing with an angry customer). A quick 10-minute language test involved translating a short text. An Excel test (20 minutes) required reproducing two advanced pivot tables from raw data. Finally, there was a 15-minute group exercise searching online for 'lost at sea' + sextant + mirror. I received feedback within 48 hours. Overall, it was a very positive interview experience.

Applied online and got invited to an Assessment Day at a local hotel within a week. The Assessment Day had 12 participants and 4 assessors. The lead assessor was nice, but others were either too casual or too cold. The day started with a case study and presentation where we had to analyze information and create a 4-slide proposal, with less than 5 minutes for each presentation. We had half a day for prep, but were constantly interrupted by an excel problem and two interviews. The first interview was a customer service role-play, and the second was behavioral with some chit-chat. The second half of the day involved individual presentations on the case study to 4 assessors. Then, we did a group activity similar to in-tray exercises, prioritizing tasks based on given reasons, where they observed our group interactions. The Assessment Day was pretty fun, despite the difficulty. However, the hiring process needs improvement for such an established company. I spoke with two assessors by phone, one about job expectations like salary and notice period, and the other to share the good news about my assessment and say HR would contact me soon. I didn't hear back for a month, and even after following up via email, they said they were still interested but there was no further communication for months.
- Nothing difficult if one is prepared.

The interview process was actually pretty fun. The lead contact/recruiter was an enjoyable party to work with. He was very detailed on how the process would flow throughout the day. The interview was multiple layers of executives analyzing your responses, attitude, and behaviors. Numerous role playing exercises. The experience took the entire day. There were three different one on one interviews throughout the day. The first is getting to know you, which was made difficult due to the interviewer's superior ability to hide all emotion and body language. The second, which involved the first role play was interesting... The group process where you work with other candidates was enjoyable. It was nice to see other candidates with the same ability, aptitude, and desire to succeed. They did a phenomenal job weeding out candidates who did not fit in with their culture.
