Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Prophet Brand Strategy.
Associate
After the first phone screen, I had 2 rounds with 2 interviews each. The first round had a mini case/context interview and a take-home assignment. I had to build a deck and present it in the interview, followed by a Q&A. They told me the third interview needed to be rescheduled for early the next week, but I never heard back to set a new time. I followed up but still no response. It was frustrating because I put a lot of work into the deck and case prep, and I was really excited about this role. The lack of communication was unprofessional and disappointing. Transparency is important, and ghosting candidates is unacceptable.
- Can you tell me why you are interested in Prophet?
- What motivated you to apply for this position?
Senior Associate
The interview process involved two rounds. The first round included meetings with an Engagement Manager and a Partner, each lasting 30-40 minutes. They asked general questions about backgrounds and interests, along with a mini case scenario. The second round consisted of meeting two Engagement Managers. One manager conducted a case study presentation, while the other focused on general questions covering background, interests, interest in consulting, and interest in Prophet.
- Could you start by introducing yourself?
- Tell me about your favorite brand and the reasons behind your choice.
- Imagine a brand wants to launch a new product or initiative. What recommendations would you offer, and how would you arrive at them?
Summer Associate
I got the interview through a resume drop on my university's career website. The on-campus interview had one straightforward case study. Then, the night before, I was sent an assignment to present on how to fix a failing brand or what changes to make to a successful one. I had an interview with one person, then after the case study, I went to another room with a different person to present the project I had worked on the previous night.
- How would you go about changing a brand that is currently failing?
- What modifications would you suggest for a brand that is already successful?
