The HR recruiter was really unprofessional and didn't give me much information. They kept me hanging for months without a clear yes or no, just waiting until they found someone better. I talked to the recruiter, the hiring manager, the director of solutions architecture, and someone on the team. The recruiter kept saying she'd update me the next day or in a few days about the next steps, but then she'd just disappear, and the same thing would happen the following week. Why couldn't she just say no or be upfront? She told me more than twice that the hiring manager was out sick or on vacation and that she had scheduled time to review and would get back to me by a specific date. She could have just been honest and told me they needed more time to look at other candidates, but they never said that. It's been three months, and I still haven't gotten a definite no or even an automated rejection email, and she's still giving me false hope. It's pretty wild.

The process was very straightforward. The people I met asked direct questions about my experience, accomplishments, and past job decisions. There were several interview layers, which gave me a good perspective on the company, culture, employees, and expectations. Lining up the next steps wasn't always efficient because employees were busy, but overall it was a very good process.

I had a few phone screens with the internal recruiter first. Then I met with the manager and assistant manager in person. After that, I had an in-person interview with my potential peers. Then, I did a mock sales presentation for both peers and management. Finally, I had one last in-person interview.
