Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Project 30.
Marketing Assistant
Applied and got a call the next day for an in-office interview. After that, on the next day they wanted me to do a second interview at a Smith's Marketplace. I should have seen the red flags from other reviews about what the job really is. The quick follow-up makes it seem like they really need to fill the spot fast, which usually isn't a good sign, maybe people leave for a reason? When they called the second time, they said I was in their top 3 out of over 25 applicants who applied daily - sounds like a sales pitch. Basically, it's a glorified entry-level sales job where you stand around in a suit selling products outside stores like Smith's or Walmart. If that's your thing, you can apparently move up and manage other reps. I wonder if you have to recruit people like in MLM schemes, seems like it.
- What are your long-term career aspirations?
Event Marketing Assistant
It was an easy interview, and the people were very friendly, making me feel quite comfortable. They asked me about my career goals and my learning style, specifically if I enjoy hands-on activities. They also provided an overview of the job duties, although it was a bit unclear. They mentioned that if I were to proceed to the next stage, I'd get a clearer picture of the role by seeing an actual event.
- What's a characteristic you'd wish to alter?
- What do you want to achieve?
- Do you like learning by doing?
Marketing Assistant
They advertise a wage of $16 per hour, but it's not truthful. They weren't really interested in my past experiences, just whether they could hire me. They claimed I was chosen from 50 applicants, but that was also a lie because I was one of many new hires on the first day.
- Are you familiar with direct marketing?
