First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Project 30.
Communications Assistant
So, the job title I applied for wasn't what the role actually was. They post different titles to get people in, which is a bit misleading. Everyone interviewed actually starts in an entry-level sales position. The first chat was super short, like ten minutes. The interviewer was cool and easy to talk to, just asking the usual stuff about my background, why I applied, and what I wanted. I left thinking I'd get an entry-level gig and then maybe move to a job that matched the title I'd applied for. The second interview was a whole different vibe, even with the same person. He was upfront, going through the whole program, which is more like paid training than a job, and making sure all the details were clear. That's when I realized what I was actually interviewing for. He got a bit condescending though, talking down about 9-5 jobs and pushing entrepreneurship. When I said I wasn't interested and needed to leave, he totally changed, becoming cold and rude, not even thanking me for coming back, as if I wasted his time by realizing the job I didn't fully understand when I came in wasn't for me. It's a good fit if you're up for the program and don't mind initial face-to-face sales in retail, or if you can afford to start at minimum wage plus commission. Otherwise, maybe look elsewhere.

Apprentice
I applied from LinkedIn and got a call quickly. They were enthusiastic about the role, highlighting the chance to learn from executives managing client portfolios. The first interview was about 20 minutes, focusing on confidence and strengths. I was asked about my background and expressed interest in digital and indirect marketing. The interviewer strongly disagreed, calling social media marketing a bubble that would die in 3 years, which I found odd given my experience. They were reluctant to discuss job duties or pay, saying it would be explained later. After each question I asked, I was told I'd learn more in the 'next step.' I was told I'd hear back the same day if selected, and I did, moving to the next phase. This next phase involved shadowing an employee at a Sams Club for 30-45 minutes. I asked if I would be paid for this time since I'd be representing the company. They said it was short and still part of the interview. It felt like free work, and the whole process seemed questionable. I still don't know the base pay or daily tasks, which is concerning given I've already had one interview. It feels unprofessional and disrespectful of my time.
- Can you tell me your two strongest qualities?
- What is one area you are looking to develop further?
- What are your career aspirations for the next 3-5 years?
Event Marketing Assistant
It was an easy interview, and the people were very friendly, making me feel quite comfortable. They asked me about my career goals and my learning style, specifically if I enjoy hands-on activities. They also provided an overview of the job duties, although it was a bit unclear. They mentioned that if I were to proceed to the next stage, I'd get a clearer picture of the role by seeing an actual event.
- What's a characteristic you'd wish to alter?
- What do you want to achieve?
- Do you like learning by doing?
Management Assistant
The interview process for Project 30 was a great experience. The second round really gave me a feel for what the job is actually like, being hands-on and interactive. I saw an employee training someone while they were working an event. The interview lasted about 30 minutes, which was enough time to see the role in detail. The interviewer was very nice and answered all my questions.
