The interview was in 2 parts. First, there was an online interview where you answer a series of questions and submit them electronically. After that, a recruiter will contact you to go over some basic information, similar to a phone interview. Then, they will put you in touch with the hiring managers for that department, and once they have your information, they will schedule an interview with you. You'll interview with two people, so it was good.

First, you'll do a recorded screening interview. They'll show you a question, and you record your answer. You can re-record it a couple of times if you mess up. The questions aren't super hard, more about how you handle things than specific job stuff. After that, there are two hour-long virtual interviews with managers. These interviews mostly use STAR questions (Situation, Task, Action, Result). They have sample questions on their website, which you should totally check out to get ready. Make sure to answer STAR questions using that format: describe the situation or task, what you did, and what happened as a result. It sounds like a lot, but preparing answers for the sample questions makes it easier.

I applied for the job on Tuesday, December 10, 2019. A recruiter reached out on Thursday, December 19, 2019 to schedule a phone interview, which happened on Monday, December 23, 2019. This recruiter wasn't part of the team I'd be joining. On Friday, January 3, 2020, I found out I was moving on. About three weeks later, on Thursday, January 23, 2020, I interviewed with the Indianapolis House Counsel Team.

Confirmed questions5 questions
  • I wish the second interview had been another phone call.
  • I felt like the job description changed from needing an experienced legal administrative assistant with 3+ years of experience to someone with little to no experience, which felt like a waste of my time.
  • The job was listed as 25 hours per week, and I'm disappointed because the company uses the STAR method, which isn't really useful for a non-customer-facing role.
