I was contacted on LinkedIn for this role and there were 3 rounds of interviews. The first was an intro interview, then one virtual interview, and finally a live virtual interview. All of them were behavior-based situational questions and weren't too difficult. Even though I have relevant experience and live in a high cost of living area, they offered me the minimum starting salary.

First there was a phone screening, then you had to record video answers to some questions. After that, you had a 1:1 interview with a team manager. Make sure to practice the STAR method and have some specific stories ready to go. You can listen to the question, then start recording your video answer, but you only get one redo, and can't pick your first take if you mess up. Be ready and show your best customer service skills!

Technical Behavioral

The interview process with Progressive felt highly impersonal and disconnected. After submitting a resume, candidates are quickly sent an assessment test that includes complex vocabulary and math problems—questions that seemed more aligned with management-level expectations rather than entry-level roles. While I understand the need to evaluate skills, the test felt unnecessarily challenging and not reflective of day-to-day job tasks. Following the assessment, the next stage is a HireVue interview, which involves recording answers to pre-set questions. This part of the process felt particularly dehumanizing, as it lacks the natural flow of a real conversation and removes the opportunity to connect with the hiring team. Overall, the experience felt overly automated, rigid, and detached, which made it difficult to showcase my true skills and personality. An interview is already nerve racking and to not have the support from your potential team is disheartening.

Confirmed questions1 question
  • Describe a time you had to adjust to a major change in a process or system at work or in college.
