I had a phone interview for an entry level position with Progeny Systems, arranged by John Galt staffing. It was supposed to be with two team members but turned out to be around 4 or 5. While one person was professional, the others weren't. There was a lot of nitpicking and outdated info, like saying HTML5 is turning complete and should be listed as a programming language. They were looking for way more than a typical university grad could offer.

Progeny reached out to me through my university, I initially forgot I had even spoken to them until they emailed me about an interview. The first step was a phone interview, where only one person interviewed me instead of the planned two due to illness. It was straightforward, covering my background and leadership skills, and they explained the role and company. I was then invited for an onsite interview. Finding the location was a challenge, taking about an hour due to unclear directions from Google Maps, even though I left early. The site itself was surprisingly small. The interview took place in a conference room near the entrance, and I was seated facing a window with a strong glare. Around six people joined the interview, and they asked questions as they thought of them. The oldest interviewer dominated, questioning a group project I worked on, stating we did it incorrectly and explaining their preferred method, despite it being a company-sponsored project where we were instructed differently. He also criticized the company. Other questions were standard, like my interest in Progeny and my qualifications. They would ask follow-up questions based on my responses. While the interview itself was not difficult, the overall experience felt unwelcoming and uncomfortable due to the setup and the interviewers' demeanor. I decided not to complete the online application afterwards.

It was a pretty typical interview. It first started with a phone interview that lasted about 45 minutes, and then I was invited in for a face-to-face interview. After that, I went in for a panel interview with about five people.

It was a contract to hire role. We had two phone screens and then an on-site interview. The interviews weren't super technical overall, they were more focused on how your experience could help the team and company. You'll eventually need to get a TS clearance by the end of your contract.
