I had an initial screening with the recruiter, then I moved on to the next round which included an assignment, and in the third round I met with the Head of Marketing. They told me I was an ideal candidate and liked my work, but then they ghosted me for about 2 weeks. I found out later that hiring for the position was put on hold. It would have been better to be told they weren't hiring anymore instead of being left in the dark and having to find out myself.

The interview process started with a quick and professional recruiter call. They were transparent about the stages and scheduled the interview fast. However, the actual interview felt like a setup for failure. The interviewer was dismissive and rushed through technical questions, not letting me explain my work or skills. There was no positive feedback, and I was often interrupted. They didn't value my DP-203 Microsoft certification, and it seemed like the Chief Data Architect might see certified people as a threat. I'm also worried about the layoffs from Sept 2023 to Sept 2024, especially since another DP-203 holder was let go. The role wasn't even posted publicly, which makes me question the real hiring intent, especially with internal politics.

The interview process at Productive Edge, when I went through it, showed that they were familiar with their clients but still had some ways to go in terms of processes and defining roles. I had a total of three interviews: one phone call and then two in-person interviews on the same day, both with partners of the company. While they did consider technical skills, they also asked about moving from a business analyst role to a more dedicated requirements owner and project manager, which was the main focus for the position and interview. My impression from the number of technical and role-specific questions was that the interviewers were very skilled technically, but maybe not the best at project or people management.

The interview process took over a month. I got a call directly from HR. The interview itself was fine, but the HR person didn't seem to have much experience. I followed up three times, but got no response and she just avoided my calls. I don't understand why she couldn't just tell me I wasn't selected, especially since she informed me via email that I passed the technical round. It's strange because companies are usually quick and polite when they need someone, but this company was really slow even during the interview stages. I'm worried about how their appraisal process might be. I'd advise against wasting time interviewing with them.
