Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Procore Technologies.
Sales
It was a pretty standard interview process. Started with a recruiter screening, then a hiring manager chat, followed by a panel interview, and a demo. The first two steps were pretty easy if you had good stories and relevant experience. The hiring manager was really nice and made me excited about the role. Then came the Panel, and it felt like they were trying to trip me up. It was very scripted, especially the part about values, and the interviewer didn't seem to align with Procore's values at all. They weren't fully engaged from the start, wouldn't give feedback, and asked questions that didn't seem relevant to the preparation. I didn't get an offer, and they gave minimal feedback, but the job posting reappeared a week later. Considering the effort involved, the whole experience left a bad taste. Don't expect an offer on your first try; it usually takes a few attempts.
- Can you share an instance where you had to deliver constructive criticism?
Sales
There were three interviews total. The first was a typical sales interview. The second involved a demo presentation. The third was a meeting with the Sr. Managers. They emphasized cultural fit as much as being a high performer.
- Tell me about a time you had to handle a difficult customer and how you resolved it.
Sales
It was kind of long, mostly for promotions, with a lot of interviews back-to-back on the same day. I'm not sure what to compare it to, but there were like 5 different interviews happening on that one day.
- If closed deals weren't a metric, how would you measure success otherwise?
