First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Procore Technologies.
Account Executive
I went through five interviews: first with a recruiter, then with a manager, followed by two more managers, and finally a role play. They added a last-minute interview with the head of sales. I didn't get the offer because they thought I was too junior for the role, which is something they should have figured out earlier. There have been some organizational changes too; one manager I interviewed with isn't at Procore anymore. With all these changes, I wonder if I dodged a bullet. The people I interacted with were friendly and professional, though.
- Can you describe your approach to managing and executing territory planning?
Account Executive
I interviewed with Procore back in November. First, I had a chat with the recruiter, which was awesome. Then I spoke with the manager, and it was a really weird experience, probably the second worst interview ever. He kept asking me when my next interview was, and I told him I didn't have one scheduled. He asked me three times, and I gave him the same answer. He started the interview, and at the end, he asked about my next interview again, and I repeated that this was the last one. They ghosted me for weeks, and then finally got back saying they weren't moving forward. Now, it's April, and the recruiter contacted me again for the same role. I told them what happened, and now the recruiter has ghosted me. It seems like there's no communication or organization at Procore, and I'm actually glad I didn't get an offer given how messy it was.
- The recruiter asked standard sales questions about how you manage cold calling and prospecting, and what your quota is.
- The manager seemed burnt out and stressed. He didn't ask many questions but focused on how tough the job is and if I could handle it, which is expected in sales.
Account Executive
I applied online and got an email, but the first interview took weeks. This hiring process is serious and takes a long time, over 4 months total. First, there were a couple of recruiter phone screens, each about an hour. Then I went to the regional office for two in-person interviews: one with my direct manager and another with their director. The final round was at corporate HQ with a full team, 7 interviews in a row all day with 2 Managers, 2 Directors, 2 VPs, and the SVP for 2 hours. They really care about hiring the right people, so be patient and professional.

“What metrics do you use to assess business health?”
Read reports →“The whole process was a bit strange. I applied and received a link to schedule a call before the holidays. No one showed up, so I had to reschedule. The following day, I got an automated message saying thanks but no thanks, despite having confirmed a January date. I attended the January meeting anyway because the recruiter hadn't confirmed if it was still happening, and thankfully, he did. It was mostly basic questions, and then I was moved on. My first call with Chuck went well, we had good rapport, and he was interested in learning more about me, but he heavily emphasized my willingness to travel. The next step was a similar call with the hiring manager, scheduled late on a Friday because he was on the West Coast. I asked most of the questions; he only asked one about my methodology at the end as he was clearly rushing to another call, so it didn't feel like a natural conclusion and was quite frustrating. Afterward, I sent a couple of follow-up emails and received absolutely no feedback from recruitment. I contacted the hiring manager directly and eventually got a response after a week, stating they were still interested but hadn't received feedback yet. Considering it was a 30-minute call, this delay seemed unnecessary, but apparently, they had a kickoff meeting. My question is, what feedback could possibly be given after a week and a kickoff? Regardless, it ended there with a thank-you note, but they decided not to move forward. The strange part of the note was that they mentioned being impressed with my skills, even though no attempt was made to evaluate them, making it hard to believe. It felt very poorly managed, with terrible candidate communication, and seemed dishonest.”
