Sales Manager
The interview process was really straightforward and they were upfront about everything regarding the job. They flew me in for a face-to-face meeting and I was happy with how things went. Everyone I met was really nice and professional.
- What makes you believe you'd be a good fit for this role?
Sales Manager
They send you an assessment that takes about an hour to complete. After passing, you get a request to schedule for a phone interview. You schedule a time, from a list of days that are incremented into 15 minute slots, that are mostly booked up. You pick a slot. The day comes to your interview, and this time they called late. Blamed it on taking time with a customer. 10 minute phone interview. Not professional. They want you give them a 30 sec elevator pitch to sell them on why you wanted the job. They base their decision off of you with in the first few minutes of talking together. They didn't show any value in my opinion. They pay a draw, give you a company vehicle and expect you to provide out of pocket (with their company credit card that applies to your draw) hotel stay, gas and meals for a week out of every month. Their sales people do it, because they can win a sale at 1million dollars and the commission is so high, sales people are willing to do this. I was not impressed at all. I wasn't interested, so I kind of gave him a hard run for his time. I did not make it to the next round.. Darn!! If a person makes it to the next round, they will get a Skype interview and then if they pass that.. they will get flown out to their headquarters which I was told they would pay for the plane ticket; not sure about a hotel room or lunch though.
- Why do you think you are the right candidate for this position?
- Can you give me a brief pitch explaining your interest in this role?
Sales Manager
I applied online and passed the ATS system. Then I did an online skills assessment. After that, I was asked to schedule a 15-minute phone interview. The interviewer called me and mentioned they had a lot of interviews to do, so they wanted to give me some information first to see if it was a good fit. They started by asking about geography. They also mentioned that the position is 100% commission with a $40K annual draw against commission. They said it's a good product but not a very strong employee position.
