Inside Sales
The hiring process began with a phone call, and then there was an in-person interview with the sales manager and the department manager. The department manager gave us a tour of the place.
- Who is your biggest role model?
- How do you deal with rejection?
- Are you capable of making 75 calls daily?
Sales Representative
I had an initial phone interview, and then they brought me in for an in-person meeting. I didn't get a great vibe during the interview. It's a 100% commission role, and you have to cover all your own expenses, including gas for the company car. The job involves two weeks on the phone and two weeks in the field, covering the New York City territory, which you have to drive to. They gave me a tour of the building at the start, and it felt like they were trying to sell me on the job before the actual interview. I also spoke with the owner, and it felt more like an interrogation than an interview. He was nice, but I felt he was asking trick questions.
- Are you comfortable presenting to groups and important people?
Field Technician
Applied and did an online assessment. My answers apparently suggested I'm too smart for their nonsense, so they rejected me afterward without any discussion or explanation. I have 12 years of experience doing installation jobs and then got an engineering degree. I'm likely overqualified but I applied anyway because I missed working as an auto technician. I wasn't concerned about the pay, and I figured the advertised $60k+ annual salary was an exaggeration, as 12v installers don't typically earn that much but do it for the enjoyment. I expected them to at least review my resume and speak with me. It was a very unprofessional experience. I was even willing to accept less than my engineer salary for my skilled labor. Pro vision messed up!

Sales Manager
I applied online and passed the ATS system. Then I did an online skills assessment. After that, I was asked to schedule a 15-minute phone interview. The interviewer called me and mentioned they had a lot of interviews to do, so they wanted to give me some information first to see if it was a good fit. They started by asking about geography. They also mentioned that the position is 100% commission with a $40K annual draw against commission. They said it's a good product but not a very strong employee position.
