Frontend Engineer
So, there are 3 rounds total. First, you'll chat with someone from the Acquisition team about why you're interested in the company and this job, and just your general background. Then, the next two rounds are all about the tech stuff, talking with engineers and other technical folks. The last interview is a live coding challenge to check out your coding skills and how you solve problems on the fly. Be ready to code, explain how you're thinking, and talk about your code.
- Can you discuss the latest features in Angular, specifically covering releases from Angular 16 onwards?
Senior Backend Engineer
The interview process had 4 parts: First, an HR screen where they asked about my past experience. They didn't ask about salary, which was nice. Then, I interviewed with two Engineering Managers. It was technical, but more like discussions. They asked me about Design Patterns and the OSI model. It was a chill discussion, I liked it. After that, I had a technical assessment with an Engineering Manager and another engineer. The other engineer didn't say much, and I was given a problem to solve. I didn't get many instructions, it was up to me. The problem was mainly an OOP design with a simple algorithm part. Finally, I had an interview with the CTO, which was again just questions and discussions.
- Can you explain the OSI model and describe at least three of its layers?
Software Engineer
The first technical screening interview was supposed to be 30 minutes. But the interviewer ran out of time and had to leave, leaving me waiting in a Microsoft Teams room. He said he'd message me in chat when he was ready. I waited for 3 hours, but he never showed up. I contacted the recruiter to reschedule, which they did. Later, the recruiter messaged that the new meeting was cancelled and they weren't moving forward with my application. Basically, the interview was cut short due to the interviewer's poor time management. The interview was abandoned before it was finished, and they made decisions without a full picture. Communication broke down twice: first when the interviewer didn't return, and second when the recruiter cancelled the rescheduled meeting. If this is how the company operates, I'm glad they didn't proceed.
- Can you explain the theory behind domain-driven development (DDD)?
Product Designer
I applied through LinkedIn and was really impressed with their product. About a week after applying, I got an invite for the first round. I thought it would be with HR, but it actually turned out to be with a Product Manager. I hadn't really prepared for it, but I knew all the answers. Then, I was invited for a second round with someone from the DesignOps team and an HR person. Unfortunately, the salary they offered was lower than what I'm currently making, so I had to back out of the hiring process. It would have been great if they discussed salary upfront, which would have saved everyone some time. Despite that, I genuinely enjoyed all the conversations I had with everyone involved.
