We set up a Zoom meeting. I didn't know it was going to be a surprise panel interview with three people. They asked me a bunch of nclex-style questions. They weren't sure if they were going to get back to me, so I had to follow up with HR about the status.

I applied online and was contacted by 3 schools. I applied for over 50 special education positions. It took a few weeks to get contacted. Because I was an out-of-state teacher, the interview process was different. I was licensed in both my current state and Virginia. The interview was done via video call software for candidates like me. 2 schools did a video call interview; the 3rd school did not and moved on. The first interview was at an elementary school with the principal, assistant principal, and a special education teacher. The principal asked all the questions, the assistant principal took notes, and the SpEd teacher was mostly there but did participate. I didn't get that job. I was informed by mail. I got a PWCS position at another school anyway. I preferred the other position because it was at a middle school and I liked my interviewer more. The second interview, where I got the job, was only with the assistant principal. He liked me, and a few weeks later an HR person offered me the position. This interview was via video call.

I submitted my resume back in November and after a week, I got an email requesting that I drive down to their offices in Northern Virginia. It was about a 2 hour drive one way, but I was happy to do it. I went through the interview and then completed a short task. Nothing too surprising. Then they asked that I fill out biometrics and get my fingerprints taken care of. That sounded like a great sign. I left. When I got home, the HR coordinator emailed me and said that they would like me to come back down a day later for a second interview. I met with the CEO, her husband and one other person. The interview went well and they said that they would make a decision within two weeks and let me know. I waited patiently, but I received no emails or phone calls. I finally emailed asking politely for an update and offering any additional information they may need, but I received no email. I have an email tracker and so I know they opened the email. It has now been two months, and I still haven't received any email from them. I find this to be unprofessional. I spent two days, money in gas and over 10 hours of my time applying for this job. Although this does not entitle me to receive the job, I do feel that it entitles me to a courtesy email, or phone call to explain the decision. I am very disappointed with this company and how they treated me in the end.

Behavioral Presentation

I found the job online and all the interviews were done over Zoom. It seemed like there were three rounds: an initial screen, then an interview with one panel, and then a second interview with a different panel. The people interviewing me were really professional and nice. During the process, I had to answer a writing prompt which I had to send back within an hour and also prepare and give a presentation that was 8-10 minutes long. It's been a couple of weeks since my second interview and I haven't heard anything back, so I think I was ghosted.
