Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Primerica.

It was a multi-stage interview process with preliminary interviews and a follow-up interview. They also did some following up with candidates. The whole experience was really nice and the environment seemed nice.
- What are your usual expected interview questions?
Management Analyst
I was contacted by someone from the West Chester, OH office for a job. They said they were looking for people without financial backgrounds because of interpersonal skills. I went in for an initial interview with the Senior Regional Leader, and they gave an overview of what the company does to a group of applicants. Then I scheduled another interview. Over the weekend, I did some research and found concerns about the job. Some people online said it was all commission with no client list, meaning you have to use your own network or family/friends. The presentation mentioned commission but didn't clarify if there was a base salary. I tried calling both contacts all weekend and on Monday but got no answer. Less than 3 hours before my next interview, the recruiter finally called back. He said he got my questions and that we shouldn't meet because I had concerns and didn't fit the background. This didn't make sense since he'd previously said they wanted people outside finance, and the orientation repeated this. When I pointed this out and asked for answers to my questions, he just said 'Yeah, well... have a good day, best of luck'. I felt this was rude, unprofessional, and hypocritical. Either he lied about wanting people outside finance initially, or he lied to avoid answering my questions. If he lied initially, he wasted my time by interviewing me for a role I couldn't get. If he lied to avoid answering, his employees need to be more professional and upfront about commission-based roles and using your own network before an interview. It would have been a waste of time to get dressed up and drive 30 minutes just to find out about hidden job requirements.

I interviewed for a few different roles, but the recruiter was really unresponsive and I ended up getting ghosted. It took many emails over several days just to get a reply. If this is how they handle communication before hiring someone, I don't expect great service afterward.
